All about roulette, play online in different versions now

Roulette is a game of chance with a spinning drum which has numbered cells. The word roulette itself has its roots in the Latin rota, which means wheel. In fact, any game involving the presence of a moving wheel can be considered roulette. The basis of roulette is a spinning ball in a circle. When the ball falls, it indicates a winning number. The fall of this or that number is random and unpredictable.

Roulette basic rules

The aim of roulette is to predict the winning number and bet on it. Before the ball falls, players have the opportunity to place their bets on a specially marked area on the table – sectors, trying to guess the winning number. In this case, you can choose not only one number, but two, three or more. In fact, every player can bet on all the roulette numbers.

He also wins if he bet on additional fields, common to some numbers. For example, when any red number rolls, the bet on “Red” wins. And the bet on “Black”, respectively, loses. In roulette there is a sufficient number of different additional and combined bets. They are all paid accordingly to the payout ratio adopted in a particular casino. Typically, the number is paid 35 to 1, and bets on “Red” or “Black” only 1 to 1.

Roulette is a cyclical game. As soon as the ball falls, the winning number is determined and all payouts are made, the game starts again – the ball runs down the roulette chute again and players can bet again. Roulette is a mathematically determined game based on the fact that payouts are not equal to (usually less than) the odds of the winning number falling out. That is, if the roulette has a 1 in 37 chance of one number falling out, the player only gets 36 chips if he wins (35 to 1 payout and plus the remaining winning chip).

One chip goes as a commission to the gambling establishment. And no matter how many chips and different combinations the player would put, in theory, he would lose every 37 chips. In practice, however, roulette is unpredictable and history knows the cases when players won and lost large amounts of money at roulette just because they were too lucky or vice versa did not smile at their luck.

Strategies of roulette

Ever since roulette came into existence, a lot of players have been building certain systems and strategies that are designed to help them win. Most systems are based on the desire to find some correlation between the roll of the ball and what number or group of numbers came up before. For example, it’s hard for our minds to imagine that if the number 26 (or any other number) comes up six times in a row, it might come up the 11th time.

By the way, in the book of records there is a case of a number falling out on the roulette wheel only six times in a row. So, we understand that the number 26 has some probability of falling out for the 7th time as well, but we believe that this probability is less than that of the other numbers. Mathematically, this is not true – the probability remains the same – each subsequent number does not depend on the previous number. Therefore, all systems based on the mathematics of games is recommended to be perceived solely as fun, rather than as a real way to make money.

The course of the game of Roulette

The dealer says the phrase: “Your bets, please! Then, he starts the wheel and throws the ball in the opposite direction (if the wheel rotates clockwise, the ball is started counterclockwise and vice versa). Bets can be placed both before and during the spinning of the ball.

After the dealer says: “Bets have been placed, no more bets, thank you! Usually the dealer tries to do this three rounds before the fall of the ball in the room.

When the ball stops in one of the cells, the dealer announces the winning number and marks it:

  • marker (dolly)
  • on the playing field.

Then the dealer clears the field of losing bets and pay the winnings. After removing the marker from the number new bets are accepted, and the whole cycle repeats from the beginning.
